What changes the plan
Allow time for a walk-around in usable light. Follow the operator’s inspection process and make sure existing marks are included in the shared record. Photograph wheels, glass and easily overlooked lower panels without entering unsafe areas. Keep the vehicle identifier connected to the inspection, not just a folder of unlabelled photos.
Before departure, understand the fuel requirement, normal controls and any model-specific instructions. Record supplied keys, documents and accessories. If a warning light, unfamiliar message or missing item appears, stop the handover and ask the operator to explain it. Do not solve uncertainty by experimenting with the car.
Agree on a return contact and an exact legal meeting point. Ask how the final inspection is documented and when you receive its result. Keep the initial record and the return confirmation together. Questions about refundable amounts should go to the operator with those records, not assumptions about another company’s process.
